With the first break in the season occurring after Saturday’s fixtures, this week’s ‘Club Watch’ begins to take a look at what some of our clubs will be up to over the next two months. 

National 1

Birmingham Moseley

On Monday, Birmingham Moseley announced that their former 1st XV centre from the late 70s and 80s has been appointed as Head Coach at the club. Collin Osbourne returns to Moseley after 22 years with Harlequins as a member of the coaching staff.

Leaving Quins at the end of last season, Osbourne served as skills coach for the last eight years of his time at the Stoop.

Darlington Mowden Park

Members of the armed forces will benefit from free entry on Saturday 17th November, as Darlington Mowden Park will be celebrating Armed Forces Day. As part of the day, there will be a range of military vehicles outside the Northern Echo Arena for fans to learn about.

Help for Heroes will also be in attendance to raise money for the charity. Fans can also go to a special pre-match meal prior to the game against Plymouth Albion. For £25, there will be a two-course carvery meal, admission to the game and a Help for Heroes ambassadors sharing inspirational stories.

Plymouth Albion

Plymouth Albion will be hosting their Gentleman’s Day on Saturday 24th November. The club play Rosslyn Park on the same afternoon and for the price of £45 per person, attendees will get a three course lunch, a welcome drink, admission to the game as well as entertainment.

Of course, ladies are welcome to attend the event too!

National 2 North

Chester RUFC

Chester are inviting fans to come down to the club this weekend for a Sunday lunch. Priced at £10 for adults and £6.50 for children, there will be a carvery with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

Hull Ionians

Hull Ionians’ Brantingham Park will host Championship rugby on the Saturday 24th November. Yorkshire Carnegie will play the Doncaster Knights at the ground just before another Yorkshire derby when Hull take on Otley.

If you get your ticket in advance, to see both these games it will cost an adult just £10. In the clubhouse ,the Autumn international fixture between England and Australia will be televised for fans. There will be indoor and outdoor bars as well as hot and cold refreshments to accompany the two quality fixtures.

Macclesfield 

Macclesfield will be the venue of some live music on Friday 9th November. There will Motown and Soul and modern pop rock at Priory Park, so people are invited down to dance the night away and enjoy the event put on by Supersession.

National 2 South

Old Albanian RFC

Old Albanian will be hosting their fireworks night this Saturday night. There will be a BBQ, as well as a bar open on the night. Advanced ticket prices will be £20 for a family, £10 for an adult, £5 for a child and £5 concession.

Rams RFC

There will be eight local schools at Old Bath Road on Saturday for a tag rugby festival. The club are asking that the participants of the tag rugby festival stay on to watch the 1st XV game against Dings Crusaders.
