Following the RFU Council meeting on Monday – and the decision not to authorise potential promotion for Ealing Trailfinders from the Championship to the Gallagher Premiership – this is an opportunity to establish where National League Rugby stand.

• The winners of National One WILL be promoted to the Championship. This is non-negotiable.
• As a consequence of Monday’s decision, the number of clubs to be relegated from National One will be three although there remains a very small possibility that in the event of no relegation from the Championship, that number will be reduced to two.

We are aware the situation could change depending on discussions around the futures of Wasps/Worcester Warriors and we will provide an update in due course.
