Despite the eternal optimism of the preview on Friday, there were in fact four NCA fixtures postponed over the weekend. In National 1, Cinderford’s trip to Bishops Stortford was called off, in the North, Sheffield Tigers called off their game with Tynedale and in the South, Esher and Leicester Lions postponed their home games against Worthing and Sutton & Epsom. So, back to reality. Hopefully. After two weeks of disruption across the National Leagues, we are back to a full fixtures list and, provided that Storm Jorge doesn’t do a number on us, we should see some exciting action across National 1 and National 2. (Photo Credit: Dr. Gareth Lyons)

Before Storm Dennis last weekend, we had a much lighter weekend of fixtures. A fallow week in the NCA Rugby calendar, used to catch-up on fixtures effected by weather, seven games across National 1 and National 2 will take place on Saturday to bring everyone back to speed before the final stretch of fixtures this Spring. Storm Dennis really did go to town at the weekend. Causing half of the weekend’s games to be postponed, the rain resulted in pitches up and down the country being waterlogged and the winds resulted in serious health and safety concerns. (Photo Credit: David Whittam)

The National Leagues have a strong history of helping players take their next steps in the sport.
There were many sporting fixtures which fell foul to Storm Ciara over the course of the weekend, but thankfully, the National Leagues weren’t affected and good job too, as Round 22 provided us with some excellent action. (Photo Credit: Tonbridge Juddians)Read More
